FASRO began endowing educational scholarships for high school students starting in 1988.
During this time period, FASRO has awarded over 500,000 thousand dollars to our students to assist them in obtaining their goal of a college education.
FASRO’s mission is to keep our children safe, but we also prioritize the safety and well-being of the School Resource Officers who protect them. Since the inception of the FASRO Benevolence Fund, FASRO has donated tens of thousands of dollars to support School Resource Officers who have been injured or fallen ill in the line of duty.
In 2023, the Florida Legislature established the Florida Safe Schools Canine Program to recognize individuals, schools, or businesses as Florida Safe Schools Canine Partners if they provide monetary or in-kind donations to law enforcement agencies for the purchase, training, or care of firearm detection canines. FASRO is committed to helping its members acquire and support these canines for our schools. These specially trained dogs are essential for detecting firearms on school grounds, and by contributing to this program, you are making a significant impact on student safety in Florida. The care for these canines includes, but is not limited to, veterinary care such as wellness checks and medications, food, interactive and training toys, grooming, and essential equipment like collars and leads.

These undesignated funds grant us the flexibility to meet our needs and make strategic investments across various areas of the organization.
We, the members of the Florida Association of School Resource Officers, in a uniform effort, will provide support and training to those who work daily with our greatest asset: children. In addition, FASRO will ensure a safe educational environment through advanced training and networking of law enforcement officials.
